Hey friends! Here we are again… I realized that I left y’all hanging when I said I would share some student teaching stories. So watch out, I’ve been writing more and I am setting them up so they’ll automatically be posting (a win-win if you ask me).
I’ve been done with student teaching for almost three months now. Time flies! Luckily for you (and for me), I wrote down some little stories along the way and I have some memories I know I’ll never forget. One of which is what I’ll be sharing about today.
In my first post about student teaching, I shared a picture of the Letter “T” drawings I did with my students. Y’all! Those drawings weren’t the greatest, but they were FAR better than some of my other ones.
The one that was by far the worst was from Letter “G” day. I had students reference this drawing for weeks afterward. So buckle in. It’s really bad. Like take whatever you’re thinking and multiply it by at least ten.
Are you ready?
But like… are you sure you can handle it?
FYI: I look back at it now and laugh, so it is totally acceptable to laugh when you see it.
We still get to be friends after you see this… right?
Okay…
*takes deep breath*
Here goes nothing…
Did you catch it? Did you catch the really bad thing? The blurriness of this picture because of my laughter didn’t help the situation… The one that shows my inability to draw is the gorilla.
Yep. That black blob on the right…
That’s my attempt at a gorilla…
And my students and others that saw it were laughing just as hard as you and I are right now.
(And I promise… I laugh every time I look at this picture)
And since you’ve been waiting so long for a story, I think it’s only appropriate to include part two of this story.
So this drawing “incident” went down on a Tuesday. Three days later (on Friday), we had an apple-themed day. During this day, we made applesauce as a class during reading small groups.
If we make applesauce, you know we have to eat it, and I had some too. I pulled down my mask to eat the applesauce. And everything is going well and we’re having a great time.
All of a sudden, one of my kinders notices that I had my mask down and they were able to see my face.
“Miss M, you look like a gorilla!”
This made the entire class laugh, and I was laughing right along with them. I mean… how else do you respond to that?
While I don’t know what made her think of the gorilla, it was hilarious! I still laugh about it A LOT.
I love kids. They say the funniest and most random things.
There you go! I hope you enjoyed your two for one! And keep your eyes out because the next story is coming soon!
Let the teaching adventures continue!
