This is probably one of my favorite pictures. There’s a couple of reasons for this.
- I was doing Children’s Ministry. I absolutely love getting to do anything with kids, so this was such a surreal experience.
- I was teaching a memory verse in FRENCH. (I am not fluent in French at all, but I learned the memory verse in French and then taught it).
- I got to teach the memory verse with one of my new best friends. (The man standing next to me was our translator on our trip. He and I became friends quickly. I taught him some Spanish and he taught me some French while we were on this trip. We still message each other).
- The shelter that we were doing children’s ministry in was one that I helped to build. And that leads me to point number 5…
- This picture is from my first (and definitely not my last) mission trip. I was sixteen years old and the team that I was on went to Togo, West Africa (map pictured below). While we were there, we helped to construct a tabernacle (eight posts and a tin roof) and a shelter for Children’s Ministry. We would build these shelters and then we would walk around the area and invite people to the service.
This was a trip that I will NEVER forget. There is definitely so much more to tell about this trip, but this is a good starting point.
Thanks for sharing in the adventure!
